A Few Things You Need To Know About Generative AIHey Reader,Generative AI is an unsupervised learning method that enables an AI model to create new content from vast amounts of training data. Microsoft, OpenAI, and Google have introduced powerful viral tools that have opened the floodgates to a new way of working and a whole new set of tools. These are being integrated into workflows today with great success. Here's an overview of a few significant AI events:
Generative AI is changing how future workers create and consume content. They will expect assistance with summarizing information, there will be a shift when creating content where people will be limited more limited by their imagination, not their skill set. Expecting more engaging and higher quality content Generative AI reduces the barriers to entry for content creation, allowing people to create more engaging content with greater ease. As a result, creators can focus more on the content and message they want to convey. The ability to turn text to videos, turn text to high quality images for your posts and thumbnails, assistance with creating better blog and long form posts, converting long form videos to short videos. The possibilities are endless here. I don’t think it’s about a matter of making jobs redundant It’s allowing people to focus on the more important aspects of their tasks at hand in their job, and allows them to be more productive doing this. Productivity From a productivity perspective there’s so much potential to help people find the and consume the right information a lot faster which can allow people to focus more on their tasks at hand which we know is a big concern for desk and frontline workers. Implementing Solutions As A Designer Part of a designer's job will be able to help people understand how to utilize the tool in a non-obtrusive or overwhelming way, and the tool coming across more friendly, so it feels like it's assisting someone in completing their job better rather than it feel threatening by taking over their job. Also, surely there's going to be way better user interfaces than typing to a chatbot with extremely long-winded prompts to create something compelling that reminds me of typing in a terminal window. While ChatGPT has been the fastest-growing app in history, the free-form input blank text field interface carries a fairly strong barrier to entry for casual users. We’re just at the start People are entitled to be sceptical about generative AI as it currently stands. Summarisation isn’t always accurate, bots can be tricked, and the media produced isn’t always engaging or compelling. The ethics of generative AI also need to be fully thought out instead of being rushed. The models are trained on existing artists’ designs, which raises questions about intellectual ownership and rights. Some may believe the narrative could be ahead of the software? Habit Forming We are still at the stage where people are forming habits and expectations of what they expect from these tools. Is the expectation for people to create scripts and get summaries natively through the browser experience, or is it up to the web apps to offer a better experience here? I think it will be a real missed opportunity if you don't explore this space. Take Care - Furquan! It’s common to think our strengths as a person are things that we’re naturally excellent at and weaknesses are things that you are not great at. However, it’s time to reframe this thinking. Strengths are activities that you enjoy and make you feel strong. You might not be a good at an activity right now, but love doing it. This doesn’t make it your weakness. Strengths are things that we really enjoy doing, we do them as we find them fun, we get fulfilment at this activity, we might find it...
